Demigod Worship Takes Root

Back To Prabhupada, Issue 18, Winter 2007/8_, Quotes, Notes & News

_

Following the revelations in previous BTP issues of demigod worship in ISKCON, it really does seem as if this is becoming a regular occurrence. In the photograph below, we see that a picture of Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati had been added on to the altar on Siva-ratri 2007, (the main celebration event for Lord Shiva), at the ISKCON temple in Zurich, Switzerland. Yet Srila Prabhupada never sanctioned demigod worship in ISKCON temples:

"You know that we have refused even the Hindu people to hold demigod worship in our temple"
(Srila Prabhupada Letter, 10/10/68)
